Email: pmsdg@unilorin.edu.ng

The importance of maintaining ecological balance through conserving the diverse ecosystems and organisms that exist in aquatic environment cannot be underestimated. Therefore, we equip our students with skills and knowledge needed for ocean conservation and marine sustainability through our curricula. Our Centre for Blue and Marine Economy, in collaboration with the National Water Resources and Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries, conducts state-of-the-art research on marine ecosystems, pollution, ocean technology, and fisheries, providing empirical solutions to aquatic problems. We develop innovations to monitor, protect and restore marine habitats. We raise awareness on the importance of safe oceans through interdisciplinary teaching, workshops and community engagement.
