Health is wealth. Universities, therefore, need to make significant contribution to achieving good health and wellbeing. Our university prioritizes the physical and mental wellbeing of its staff and students through wellness programmes, medical counselling and health support services. We train future healthcare professionals, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to address health challenges and general wellbeing. We integrate the principles of this goal in our General Studies, promoting awareness about good health, public health and preventive care among our students. We conduct cutting-edge research on health issues, infectious diseases, and maternal and child health, providing evidence-based recommendations for policymaking. We develop innovative solutions to address health problems.

Community engagement and healthcare services are potent weapons for addressing public health problems. The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital and Clinic provide essential healthcare services to local communities and support public health initiatives. We also promote healthy lifestyles by the public through outreach and preventive health campaigns.

Our university collaborates with government, NGOs, and international organizations to share best practices, scale-up healthcare interventions and inform health policies, thereby promoting universal health coverage.
